Itinerary
Your journey begins with either a scenic drive (5–6 hrs) or a short flight (25 min) from Kathmandu/Pokhara to Chitwan. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink at the jungle lodge. Later in the afternoon, you’ll take a guided village walk to a nearby Tharu settlement, learning about their ancient traditions, mud houses, and farming lifestyle. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural dance show with stick dances and music, followed by a delicious dinner at the lodge.v
After breakfast, get ready for an exciting jungle safari. You’ll explore the deep forest either in a jeep safari or an elephant-back safari, with chances to see rhinos, deer, monkeys, wild boars, and even elusive tigers. After lunch, enjoy a serene canoe ride on the Rapti River, where you’ll spot marsh mugger and gharial crocodiles sunbathing along the banks, as well as colorful bird species like kingfishers and hornbills. The day ends with a beautiful sunset view from the riverbank.
Wake up early for bird watching, as Chitwan is home to over 500 bird species, making it a paradise for bird lovers. After breakfast, visit the Elephant Breeding Center, where you can see elephants with their calves and learn about conservation efforts. In the afternoon, enjoy a jungle walk with a naturalist guide, who will explain the park’s ecosystem and flora. Evening relaxation with dinner at the lodge.
After a hearty breakfast, your Chitwan jungle adventure concludes. You’ll either drive or fly back to Kathmandu or Pokhara, where the tour officially ends.
