Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a representative from Nepal Lion Treks will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in and freshening up, you'll have some time to relax. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trek briefing where your trekking guide will provide essential information about the trek, including safety measures, what to expect on the trail, and a checklist of necessary equipment. This is also an excellent opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the vibrant Thamel area, known for its trekking gear shops, restaurants, and lively atmosphere, or simply relax at your hotel. A welcome dinner will be arranged in the evening, allowing you to savor authentic Nepali cuisine.

An early morning start takes you to Kathmandu's domestic airport for a scenic 30- minute flight to Lukla (2,860m/9,383ft), the gateway to the Everest region. The flight itself is an adventure, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. Upon landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, you'll meet your porters and begin your trek. The trail descends gradually through a beautiful landscape, passing through traditional Sherpa villages, prayer flags, and mani walls. You'll follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. After approximately 3-4 hours of easy walking, you'll reach Phakding, a charming village nestled by the river, where you'll spend the night.

Today's trek is more challenging as you ascend towards Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa capital. The trail continues along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through dense rhododendron and pine forests. You'll cross several more suspension bridges, including the highest one, offering spectacular views of the river below. After entering Sagarmatha National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage site) at Monjo, you'll face a steep uphill climb to Namche Bazaar. The first glimpse of Everest and Lhotse from a viewpoint just before Namche is truly rewarding. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant market town with various shops, bakeries, and guesthouses. This is an important acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. To aid in acclimatization, you'll embark on a day hike to higher elevations and return to sleep at the same altitude. Your destination is the renowned Hotel Everest View (3,880m/12,730ft), offering unparalleled panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and other surrounding peaks. The hike takes you through beautiful pine forests and offers stunning photographic opportunities. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the hotel while soaking in the magnificent scenery. On the way back, you can visit the Sherpa Cultural Museum and the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center to learn more about Sherpa culture and the Everest region's biodiversity. The trail largely retraces your steps, offering different perspectives of the landscapes you've already traversed. While it's mostly downhill, some sections can be challenging on the knees, so take your time. This day allows for reflection on the incredible journey you've undertaken. Upon reaching Lukla, you'll have time to relax and celebrate the successful completion of your trek with your trekking crew. This is often a time for farewell dinners and sharing stories of the adventure.
