Giving Back to the Communities That Welcome Us

At Nepal Lion Tours and Treks, we believe that tourism should go beyond adventure—it should uplift and empower the communities that make every journey meaningful. Our commitment to social responsibility is deeply rooted in supporting local people during times of crisis and contributing to long-term community development, especially in remote regions like Rasuwa District.

Supporting Communities During the COVID-19 Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic created immense challenges for families across Nepal, particularly in rural and remote areas where access to healthcare, food, and income opportunities is limited. Many people lost their livelihoods and struggled to meet basic daily needs.

To support those affected, Nepal Lion Tours and Treks launched a COVID-19 relief initiative focused on providing essential assistance to vulnerable households. Through this program, we:

Raised funds to distribute food and daily necessities such as rice, salt, cooking oil, masks, soap, and hand sanitizers.
Supported daily wage workers, children, and elderly people who were unable to work or leave their homes during lockdown.
Maintained full transparency and accountability by coordinating with local authorities and sharing financial updates.

These efforts helped ease the burden on families during one of the most difficult periods in recent history.

2015 Earthquake Relief Efforts

In 2015, Nepal was struck by a devastating earthquake that caused massive destruction and displaced thousands of families. As a responsible tourism company, Nepal Lion Tours and Treks immediately stepped in to support affected communities, especially in remote regions where help was slow to arrive.

Our team actively distributed:

Emergency food supplies
Clean drinking water
Clothing
Medical and hygiene materials

Working closely with local volunteers and community leaders, we ensured that relief reached families who needed it most.

Supporting Education and Future Generations

Education is the backbone of community growth. To support children in our home region of Rasuwa, we proudly contributed to the construction of a six-classroom school, providing a safe and structured learning environment for local students.

In addition, we have recently:

Distributed educational supplies such as books, notebooks, pencils, and learning materials to students in remote villages.
Helped children continue their education despite limited access to resources.

Through these initiatives, we aim to create long-term opportunities for future generations.

Why We Care?

Our Managing Director, Mr. Shiva Prasad Paudel, was born and raised in Rasuwa. Having personally experienced the hardships of rural life, he has remained deeply committed to social service throughout his life. As a social worker and peace committee coordinator, his passion for community development continues through the mission of Nepal Lion Tours and Treks.

For us, tourism is not just about exploring beautiful landscapes, it is also about protecting and strengthening the communities that make Nepal extraordinary.
