These Terms and Conditions contain important information regarding your booking with Nepal Lion Tours & Treks. Please read them carefully before making a reservation. By booking a tour, trek, or expedition with Nepal Lion Tours & Treks, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nepal Lion Tours & Treks for the services provided.
Booking and Payment Policy
To confirm a booking, clients must complete the online booking form and submit a 30% non-refundable deposit of the total trip cost.
You are also required to send a copy of your passport via email to info@nepalliontrekking.com. The passport copy is necessary for booking flights, hotel accommodations, trekking permits, and other legal travel procedures related to your trip.
Once we receive the completed booking form, passport copy, and deposit, we will send you a final confirmation receipt.
Payment Terms
- All deposits are required per person per trip.
- Bank service charges related to deposits must be paid by the client.
- For credit card payments (Visa or MasterCard only), an additional 4% processing fee will be applied.
- The remaining balance must be paid at least 20 days before the trip departure date.
- Nepal Lion Tours & Treks reserves the right to cancel the booking if full payment is not received within the required time.
- Last-minute bookings may be accepted up to 10 days prior to departure, and full payment is required at the time of booking.
1. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be made in writing via email and will be effective from the date we receive the notice.
Cancellation charges apply as follows:
- 30 days before departure: 30% of trip cost (deposit non-refundable)
- 15 – 29 days before departure: 40% of trip cost
- 7 – 14 days before departure: 70% of trip cost
- 7 days or less before departure: 100% of trip cost
Note
Instead of canceling, you may postpone your trip for up to one year by informing us at least two weeks before the departure date. If the trip price increases due to local cost changes, the additional cost must be paid by the client.
2. No Refund Policy
No refunds will be provided if:

Cancellation notice is given less than 30 days before departure.

A participant leaves the trip voluntarily or involuntarily after the trip begins.

Services such as meals, accommodation, or transportation are not used during the trip.
3. Booking Modifications
If you wish to make changes to your booking, the person who made the original booking must submit a written request. While we will make every effort to accommodate changes, they cannot be guaranteed.
4. Transfer or Postponement
If you are unable to travel due to genuine reasons (such as serious illness, injury, death of a close relative, redundancy, or jury duty), you may:
- Postpone your trip, or
- Transfer your booking to another person
The replacement traveler must meet all trip requirements.
A USD 90 administrative fee per person applies if changes are made at least two weeks before departure. Changes are not permitted within 14 days of departure.
Trip Cancellation by the Company
If Nepal Lion Tours & Treks cancels a trip, all deposits and payments will be refunded in full.
However, if cancellation occurs due to unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control (such as civil unrest, natural disasters, or government restrictions), expenses already incurred in organizing the trip may be deducted from the refund.
Incomplete Trip
If a participant decides to leave the trip before completion for any reason, no refund will be provided for unused services. Before making such a decision, please communicate clearly with your guide.
Trip Arrival Requirement
Travelers are strongly advised to arrive in Kathmandu 1–3 days before the trip departure date to allow sufficient time for trip preparation and briefing.
Passport and Nepal Visa
All travellers must have a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity beyond their return date.
A Nepal visa can be obtained from a Nepalese embassy/consulate or on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Visa fees are the sole responsibility of the client.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is mandatory for all clients participating in tours or treks. Insurance must cover:
- Personal injury or death
- Medical treatment and evacuation
- Emergency helicopter rescue
- Repatriation costs
- Baggage and travel disruptions
Health and Fitness
All treks and tours require a reasonable level of physical fitness. Clients are advised to consult their doctor before traveling.
Clients must inform Nepal Lion Tours & Treks of any pre-existing medical conditions or disabilities that may affect their ability to travel safely.
Children Policy
Travelers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Please contact us for advice regarding age suitability for specific trips.
Use of Images (Publicity)
By joining our tours, you agree that Nepal Lion Tours & Treks may use photographs or videos taken during the trip for promotional and marketing purposes, without compensation.
Changes to Itinerary and Pricing
Travel in the Himalayas requires flexibility. Itineraries, transportation, or accommodations may change due to circumstances beyond our control, including:
- Flight delays or cancellations
- Weather conditions
- Landslides or road blockages
- Political unrest
- Floods or snow conditions
In such cases, we will make every effort to provide suitable alternatives. However, refunds cannot be guaranteed due to prior supplier commitments.
Prices may also change due to exchange rate fluctuations, government policies, or other external factors.
Accommodation Policy
Most trips are based on twin-sharing accommodation. Clients requesting a single room will be required to pay an additional single supplement fee.
Privacy Policy
All personal information provided during booking will be used solely for trip organization, permits, and travel arrangements. Nepal Lion Tours & Treks will not share personal information with third parties without consent, except where required for travel arrangements.
Risk and Liability
Nepal Lion Tours & Treks strives to provide safe and high-quality travel experiences. However, trekking and adventure travel involve inherent risks.
The company will not be responsible for itinerary changes or additional costs caused by circumstances beyond our control, including:
- Government restrictions
- Natural disasters
- Flight delays or cancellations
- Illness or accidents
- Political instability
Any additional expenses arising from such situations must be borne by the client.
Responsible Tourism Policy
Nepal Lion Tours & Treks is committed to responsible and sustainable tourism, benefiting local communities, protecting the environment, and respecting local cultures.
All travellers are expected to follow our Responsible Tourism Guidelines while participating in our trips.
Complaints
If you experience any problems during your trip, please inform your guide or tour leader immediately so that appropriate action can be taken.
