Trip Facts
Overview
The Everest Helicopter Tour Landing & Breakfast at Everest View is a one-day flight from Kathmandu that flies over Everest Base Camp (EBC), lands at Hotel Everest View (HEV), and serves breakfast with Mount Everest in full view. The whole Everest Helicopter Tour runs 4 to 5 hours from pickup to drop-off.
This helicopter tour gives three main benefits: it trades 12 to 14 trekking days for a single morning, it asks for no trekking fitness, and it pairs an aerial Mount Everest view with breakfast at the world's highest hotel. The main parts of the tour are the helicopter, the pilot, the Lukla refueling stop, the Everest Base Camp flyover, the landing at Hotel Everest View, and the breakfast spread of freshly baked pastries, aromatic teas, hearty international classics, and traditional Nepali specialties.

FAQ's for Everest Helicopter Tour Landing & Breakfast at Everest View
General
The Everest Helicopter Tour Landing & Breakfast at Everest View is a one-day flight from Kathmandu that flies over EBC and lands at Hotel Everest View for breakfast. The tour pairs an aerial Mount Everest view with a balcony breakfast in 4 to 5 hours.
The Everest Helicopter Tour takes 4 to 5 hours from Kathmandu, covering the flight to Lukla, the EBC flyover, the landing at Hotel Everest View, the breakfast, and the return flight.
Hotel Everest View (HEV) is the world's highest-placed hotel, at 3,880 m (12,729 ft) in Syangboche near Namche Bazaar. The hotel opened in 1971 and faces Mount Everest from every room and the balcony.
Yes, the helicopter lands at Hotel Everest View on this tour. The helipad sits beside the hotel, so guests walk to the balcony in under 2 minutes for breakfast with a Mount Everest view.
The breakfast at Hotel Everest View includes 4 main options: freshly baked pastries, aromatic teas, hearty international classics, and traditional Nepali specialties. Eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee round out the delicious breakfast spread, served on the balcony.
No, the helicopter does not fly over the summit of Mount Everest. Thin air above 8,000 m cuts the lift a rotor can generate, so the tour gives a close aerial Mount Everest view from the Base Camp flyover instead. A single record landing on the summit happened in 2005, but standard tours do not attempt it.
No, the helicopter does not land at Everest Base Camp on this tour. The tour flies over the Base Camp area for photographs and lands at Hotel Everest View for the breakfast stop.
The maximum altitude reached during the tour is about 5,545 m (18,192 ft) over the Everest Base Camp area, with the EBC flyover at 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and the breakfast landing at 3,880 m. The helicopter climbs no higher, since thin air limits safe lift.
The main highlights are the Everest Base Camp flyover, the landing at Hotel Everest View, the breakfast on the balcony, and the Himalayan peaks panorama. The cool mountain air and sunrise light over Mount Everest round out the morning.
You can see 4 main mountains from Hotel Everest View: Mount Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Nuptse (7,861 m), and Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Thamserku and Kongde Ri also appear across the skyline.
The Everest Helicopter Tour with Breakfast costs USD 1,100 to USD 1,400 per person on a shared basis. A private charter costs USD 4,500 to USD 6,500 per helicopter for up to 5 people.
The package includes the helicopter flight, hotel transfers, a window seat, professional pilot, fuel surcharge, the EBC flyover, the landing at Hotel Everest View, and the breakfast. It excludes permits and airport tax (about USD 55) and travel insurance.
No, there are no hidden charges with a transparent operator. The permit and airport tax and any card surcharge appear separately before booking, and the breakfast at Hotel Everest View already sits in the price.
Yes, you can book a private helicopter tour. A private charter holds up to 5 passengers, sets a custom-made schedule, and allows extra balcony time at Hotel Everest View.
The helicopter fits 5 passengers plus 1 pilot. The high-altitude flyover carries a balanced load, since thin air limits the weight for safe lift.
Yes, a solo traveler can join a group helicopter tour on a shared departure date. Operators match solo passengers with a group, which lowers the per-person cost.
The total weight limit for the high-altitude flyover runs about 450 to 500 kg per helicopter. Each passenger declares an accurate weight for safe load distribution, and heavier groups balance the load across seats.
Yes, the Everest Helicopter Tour is safe under licensed operators and CAAN rules. Experienced high-altitude pilots fly maintained AS350 helicopters, launch only in clear weather, and carry onboard oxygen and passenger insurance.
Yes, there is a small chance of altitude sickness, since the helicopter rises from 1,338 m to over 5,000 m on the flyover. The breakfast landing at 3,880 m lets the body settle, and the crew carries oxygen.
Yes, helicopters carry oxygen tanks during the tour. The crew keeps oxygen for the high-altitude flyover and assists any passenger who feels short of breath.
Pilots operating the tour hold years of high-altitude flying in the Everest region. Most have flown hundreds of Khumbu missions and train for altitude emergencies and mountain evacuation.
If the weather is bad, the flight delays, reschedules, or cancels for safety. A weather cancellation carries a full refund or a free reschedule, so keep a buffer day in Kathmandu.
The best time of year is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), which bring clear skies and stable weather. October and November give the highest visibility and the sharpest Mount Everest views.
Yes, the helicopter tour suits children and elderly travelers, since it asks for no trekking and runs short. Children need an adult companion, and travelers with serious health conditions should consult a doctor first.
Book the tour online through an operator's website or by contacting the Kathmandu office directly. Booking needs a passport copy, passenger weight, and a preferred date, with a partial advance payment to confirm the seat, and reserve 2 to 3 days ahead for weather
