Itinerary
On the first day, in the morning, after breakfast, we will take off for Lukla. Lukla is also said to be the gateway to the Khumbu and Everest Base Camp trek. The flight will be of roughly 45 minutes, but you’ll enjoy the spectacular aerial view of the Himalayas.
Once we get there, we will begin our trekking journey to Phakding. We’ll be following the trails of the Dudh Koshi River to get there. Getting past numerous Sherpa monasteries, we will reach Phakding to rest for the night.
Today, after breakfast, our walk takes us through a beautiful pine forest next to the Dudh Koshi River, traversing many suspension bridges. Besides, you will reach the serene viewpoint to witness Mt. Thamserku (6618 m) after crossing the check post. Namche Bazaar is the biggest sherpa village in Nepal, where we will spend our night at a lavish lodge.
On their journey to Mount Everest Base Camp, hikers and climbers frequently stop in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize. The main settlement in the Khumbu region is situated at an elevation of 3,440 meters (11,286 ft).
Altitude sickness, which is brought on by a shortage of oxygen in the body due to low air pressure at high altitudes, can be avoided by acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar. Trekkers can acclimatize to the altitude, which means that their bodies will gradually adjust to the reduced oxygen levels, by staying at Namche Bazaar for one or two days.
Trekkers get the opportunity to explore the town and its surroundings during the acclimatization phase. Namche Bazaar is a bustling town with lots of boutiques, eateries, and hotels.
Also, it features a market where hikers can buy equipment for their trip. Visitors to the Sherpa Cultural Museum can learn about the history, culture, and customs of the Sherpa people.
This trek’s beginning is lusterless, with a bit uphill to Kayangjuma. Then, the descending starts from where we oversee to cross the river, and at the end of the day, we will climb for about two and half hours to Tengboche. Throughout the trek to Phungi Thanga, you will see many heavenly views on the route with several climbs and descents.
Then, the same route is followed by a long, steep, and little challenging climb to Tengboche. Moreover, this territory has the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, a much-visited destination. This adventurous trek will pass the entire day, so we’ll stay overnight here.
Today, the trekking journey will start with an uncomplicated downhill, but we will slowly climb upwards. After very little climbing, we will pass through a landslide zone. After walking for a few hours, we’ll arrive at Dingboche, where we’ll stay overnight.
At a height of 4,410 meters, Dingboche is bordered by some of the highest mountains in the world, such as Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Nuptse. In addition to being a well-liked acclimatization break for hikers en route to Mount Everest Base Camp, the town is well-known for its potato fields.
After trekking for days, we’ll be pretty tired, so we’ll be having a day’s rest in Dingboche. Your body also needs to adapt to climate, pressure, altitude, and surroundings changes. Moreover, you get the opportunity to explore the town and its surroundings during the acclimatization phase. Ama Dablam and Lhotse are only a couple of the magnificent peaks that surround the charming settlement of Dingboche. At Dingboche, there are many hiking opportunities for acclimatization, including a climb to Nagarjun Hill, which provides expansive views of the Himalayas.
The following day, after breakfast, we will continue our journey through the snow-capped cliffs of Cholatse and Tabuchi. Khumbu Glacier’s moraine will lead us steeply up the mountainside. We will find memorials for Sherpa climbers who died on the peaks as we hike. Our next destination will be Lobuche, where we will spend the night after walking through the valley for a few hours.
After enduring hardships and dedication, you will finally reach your dream destination, the Everest Base Camp. To reach Gorakshep, however, you must cross the Khumbu Glacier. As you continue your hike, you will encounter rocky terrains and icefalls.
It will be worth it once you see the stunning mountain range from the Everest Base Camp. We’ll be descending to Gorakshep to spend the snowy night.
The hard part of this trek is over. This morning, we will take a helicopter ride all the way up to Kala Patthar, the spot that provides an unparalleled view of Everest and other mountain peaks.
We will spend around 20 minutes at Kala Patthar, admiring the views, before flying back to Lukla, the starting point of our trek. The view of the Everest region from the air is something to behold.
This morning you get up early to catch the morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. We serve you a farewell dinner in Kathmandu at a cultural restaurant as our regard.
