Before the journey begins, Nepal Lion Treks provides a comprehensive trek and climb briefing in Kathmandu. This important session ensures that every participant is well-prepared both mentally and physically for the adventure ahead. During the briefing, our experienced guides will walk you through the entire 19-day itinerary, explain the acclimatization plan, and discuss safety protocols related to high-altitude trekking and climbing. You’ll also receive a gear check, with climbing equipment like harnesses, crampons, and helmets issued for Island Peak. The team will cover basic mountaineering techniques, including how to use fixed ropes and ascend with a jumar, giving first-time climbers the knowledge and confidence needed for summit day. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions, meet your fellow trekkers, and align expectations before heading into the mountains.
