Nowadays, you can drive direct Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar about 5 to 6 hours or further to the Sotikhola for the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley. But still, if you may want a visit to Historical Gorkha Palace, then you can start with Gorkha Bazaar too. It is also possible to start from Trisuli Bazaar as an alternative. The Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trekking goes through the Budhi Gandaki River passing different ethnic groups villages, which are involving animal husbandry and traditional cultivation. The part of Tsum Valley is a cultural trip rather than mountain scenery. At the low elevation; you can see some typical thatched huts houses and some influence by modernization. But at high elevation houses have built using mud and stone by indigenous knowledge. You will turn east north side from Ekle Bhatti after Philim village for the Tsum Valley. As Tsum Valley is the recently open trip, there are just a few tea houses facilities but mostly conduct as a homestay. Tsum Valley is declared as a sacred valley, where it is prohibited to kill or sacrificed any animal above the Chhekamparo. The trekking trail goes till Mugumpa via Dhumje, Lama Gaun, Rachen Gumba, Chule Nele. If you add a few days it is possible to visit Gumba Lungdan and Ganesh Himal Base Camp for a side trip. Then you will return back to Lokpa and catch the Manaslu Circuit main trail.

The trail leads us to continue to Budhigandaki valley through the Tibetan villages, Sama Gaon and Samdo, with beautiful mountain scenery and very old Buddhist Chhorten and Monastery most of the trail. During the acclimatization day in Samagaun, you may visit tranquil Birendra Lake and Mount Manaslu Base Camp. Internet service is available here so that if you want to ring your family it is possible. Onwards, you will walk to the Larkya La pass (5,160m) via Samdo and Dharmashala. This is diversity from the Hindu middle hills to the Tibetan high-country dwellers and the awesome mountain scenery of the Manaslu Himal and surrounding peaks combine to make this circuit one of the most fascinating, as well as one of the most challenging.

Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trekking are possible to make shorter and longer as your requirements, most of the trekkers do this trip over the Larka Pass (5,160m) then end at Besisahar or you may continue to combine with Annapurna circuit, Tilicho Lake or Narphu valley as well. It can do minimum 19 days to above 28 days; drive at the begging of trip and end of the trip. There is road contraction till Sotikhola at the begging and at the trip ending point Dharapani to Besisahar. This trek used to organize mostly camping basis/tent camp trek but now a day’s it is possible to simple Teahouse trekking (stay in the lodge).
