Itinerary

Our team will welcome you at the airport and then transfer you to your hotel. In the evening you will have a small program as a final preparation for your trek. The whole afternoon you can enjoy the chaotic city of Kathmandu.

Early morning, you will have a bus ride straight to the town of Beni. This will be a long drive of about 10 hours covering about 287 km. Reaching Beni you will relax and prepare for the trek that starts the next day.

From Beni, you join the trail that leads out from the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Leading you to the famous Tatopani, well known for its famous hot springs. Passing through a couple of bridges will take you from Simalchaur and then to Babiyachaur. Here, you will spend the night.

After breakfast, begin your trek following the Myagdi Khola River upstream through terraced farmlands and small villages. The trail gradually ascends with a mix of gentle climbs and flat sections, passing through lush subtropical forests and traditional settlements that reflect rural life in western Nepal. You’ll cross several suspension bridges and enjoy beautiful views of the Dhaulagiri range in the distance.

As you approach Dharapani, the landscape becomes greener and cooler. Dharapani (1,560 m) is a charming riverside village offering a peaceful atmosphere and an excellent resting point before heading toward Muri.

From Dharapani, the trail gets steep and circular. Passing through many small villages as you cross the great Myagdi Khola. You climb through the famous ridgetop village of Muri. The village of Muri is settled just above the great terraced fields that add on to its beauty. You will spend the night here in Muri.

More farmlands and terraced fields for this day. The fields are well planned with river water running just beside them. The backdrop of the great Himalayas will thrill you to its fullest. The trail passes through the village of Naura, as you encounter a steep ascent on the way to Bagar. With the assistance of our guides, it should be a piece of cake for you to reach Bagar. The day begins with a descent that takes you to the remote village of Jyardan. You pass on through more terraced fields and lush forests. Reaching Jyardan, you will again climb uphill, as your tear through that dense forest, until you reach this small settlement of Dobhan. You will spend your night here.

As you climb and pass on through days of trekking, you now experience the change in terrain and landscapes. You pass on through great suspension bridges, as the view of the great Dhaulagiri peak gets clearer. On this day you will trek through alpine meadows. By sunset, you will reach the Choriban Khola, where you will Camp for the day.

The trail from Khola Camp leads to the great glacier fields of Chhonbarban. You get the perfect view of Dhaulagiri and witness how immense its size really is. With each hour passing by the peak gets closer and bigger. The goal for this day will be the Italian Base Camp where you will spend the night.

Our first acclimatization day, as the elevation gain in the past few days has been massive. An acclimatization day allows your body to settle to this high altitude and lack of oxygen. At the same time, you get to rest and can explore the valley. You can go on short treks and capture great views of the surrounding mountains.

You must think, the trek is over, but it just got started. The best thing about a circuit trek is it lasts until the very end. The trail wraps around the mountains as you climb toward the French Pass. You get a new perspective on the Dhaulagiri range. You now move on to the Mysterious hidden valley. You now encounter another great feat of passing a high pass, the Thapa La at 5250 meters. Passing through the saddle that lies in Tukuche, you descend to our next camp sites where you set your camp for the day.

A day full of ascents and descents as the trail descends through the Hidden valley. You experience a roller coaster of feelings as you again ascend through another great pas, the Dhampus La. Crossing this pass you will now continue on a steep trail to Yak Kharka, where you will set your camp for the night.

Yak  Kharka is a famous checkpoint, the descent begins as you move on to the village of Marpha, just beside the great Kali Gandaki river, which we passed on through our first days of trekking. Marpha is a famous place, often known as the apple capital of Nepal. The brandies and jam products of this region are famous. The trail from Marpha now leads us to Jomsom, a very famous checkpoint joust above Pokhara. You will be spending the night here in a teahouse, with a comfortable stay after a very long day in a tent.

With the sunrise, you now bid farewell to this great region for offering us such a heartwarming experience. The 20 minutes flight from Jomson takes you to Pokhara.
